My parakeet (budgie) just laid eggs. What should I have in the cage as nesting material? How should I care for the baby birds when they hatch?

How old is your Budgie? How many eggs does she have and when was the last one laid? Is she a lone bird or does she have a cage mate? The more information you can give me, the better I can advise you.

Reply to Patricia's Post: I don't know the age of my budgie (we bought her from a pet store). She just laid her fourth egg yesterday (Friday). She does have a cage mate, I'm assuming that's the male! We have had the male budgie for a little over a year now. We've had the female budgie for about 7-8 months.
