What kind of bird do you have and how old is it?

How long have you had it?

Tell me all about it's usual diet.

Did you mean to say it "has" been pasing a lot of droppings? In other words it is having a lot of diarrhea? And it has been going on for at least a week?

Do you know the name of the drugs the vet used? It should be on your copy of the bill.

Was it injected or did they give it by mouth?

Did they run any kind of test before medicating it?

Do you have any idea if this was a true Avian vet?

Is it just sitting on the cage floor or is it still using the perches?

Are you in the U.S. and if so what state so maybe I can help you locate a proper vet because it sounds like you may have seen one that does not really know birds.

The more information you can give me, the better I may be able to help.

Do I understand correctly, you are saying this vet actually put liquid medication in your bird's nostrils?

What kind of parrot is this and do you know how old it is?

Is there any way you can find a vet who really knows how to work with parrots and birds? I can tell you from what you have said already, you are not working with one that knows anything about birds and I'm really afraid you are going to lose the bird if we can't find him some knowledgeable help right away.

If you can tell me where in Africa you are, I will try to see if I can find anyone who might be able to help. Are there any zoos or wildlife rescue agencies of wildlife preserves near you who might have a knowledgeable person working there?

For now, don't let anyone poke any more medications in your bird, in any form. Just let him stay quiet with no exercise and do your best to keep him as near 85F as possible.
