Hi Cinny!
Streptococcus zooepidemicus as the name indicates (zoo epidemic us) can be transmitted across species even to humans.
The Merck Veterinary Manual indicates this bacterial infection can impact birds

http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/index.jsp?cfile=htm/bc/204300.htm&word=Streptococcus%2czooepidemicus
"S zooepidemicus is found almost exclusively in mature chickens but has been documented as a cause of mortality in wild birds. "
While humans can catch this bacterial infection its not very common at all
http://journals.elsevierhealth.com/periodicals/ymai/medline/record/MDLN.788146
"Strep. zooepidemicus is extremely rare as a causative organism of human infections. "
It sounds like its not a big threat though its a possible one and of course careful handling and cleaning up after handling a sick animal is always wise.
Hope this helps you!
